Samsonite x Gazelle: Dual Branding Project
Samsonite x Gazelle: Dual Branding Project
For this school project, my classmate and I were randomly assigned to make a dual branding out of Samsonite and Gazelle. It wasn’t an easy challenge: we had to create a completely new product from scratch—something that didn’t exist yet. Our solution? A portable bike suitcase, merging functionality, travel, and cycling into a single innovative design.
The assignment also required us to treat the concept as if we were building a new company, ensuring the branding flowed seamlessly through all media outputs. The highlight of our project was the TV commercial.
Process
Research: Exploring both brands, their target audiences, and their visual styles. All put into one big document.
Moodboard: A visual foundation for the campaign’s style, colors, and materials.
Concept Sketch: Early product sketches to visualize our idea.
3D Design: We created a 3D model in Blender, which became the centerpiece of the commercial.
Media Outputs
We applied the branding consistently to:
TV Commercial
Print Advertisement
Logo Design
Mockups: Product tags and packaging boxes
Website Design
The Result
The TV commercial brought the product to life, showcasing how the portable bike suitcase could work in real life. Despite the difficulty of starting from nothing, we successfully developed a product concept and campaign that balanced the strengths of both brands.
This project was a true creative challenge that taught me how to combine branding, 3D design, and video production to tell a cohesive story.
